Terms and Conditions

1. Insurance
Included in the hire is fully comprehensive insurance for drivers
between the ages of 25 and 70 with full, clean, UK or EU driving licenses, who have
not made more than one “at fault” claim in the past three years on any motor
insurance. Drivers who
do not meet these criteria may still be insured, but there may be an additional
premium or excess – please ask me for a quote. The standard excess on the
policy is £750 for which the hirer of the vehicle will be liable if a claim is
necessary. Proof of identitiy must be provided for
each driver prior
to the start of hire. This must include their photocard driving licence and
paper counterpart, and proof of address (utility bill or bank statement less
than 3 months old). It may be possible to provide insurance for drivers who do not
fully comply with these conditions. Please discuss this with us at the time of
booking and I will obtain a quote from my insurance company.
2. Booking and deposit. The deposit
required is 50% of the hire cost.
Payment can be made by paypal, cheque or by
electronic funds transfer. Payment of the balance is due one week prior to your booking. Cleared funds must be received
before the hire begins.
In addition, a security deposit of £250 is required in case of
damage to the vehicle. This should be paid by cheque at the commencement
of hire.
3. Collection and Return
Collection of the vehicle is from 8am on the first day of your
holiday, and return is by 10pm on the last day of hire. Collection and return times must be agreed in advance. Please allow up to one hour for the collection of
the vehicle. Before you leave I will need to give you a demonstration of all
the features of your vehicle. I will provide you with a full tank of petrol at the start of
your trip, and I ask that you return the vehicle with a full tank at the
end. All vehicles run on unleaded petrol. I will store your car for you on my premises while you are away.
Please leave your keys with me in case I have to move vehicles around or the alarm goes off.
Please advise me if you are going to be late returning the
vehicle. This can cause problems getting the vehicle ready for the next hire,
and you may be driving uninsured. I realise that sometimes delays are not your
fault, but I reserve the right to charge £10 per hour for late returns.
Please return the vehicle clean, and in the same good condition
that it was in when you collected it from us. If the vehicle needs more than routine cleaning I will
charge a valeting fee of £50.
4. Cancellation
In the event of cancellation more than 6 weeks prior to the start
of the hire, the non refundable deposit will be retained by me, but you will not
be liable for any further costs. I am under any obligation to transfer
deposits to alternative booking dates, but will endeavour to do so where
possible. Within 6 weeks of the hire commencement date, the full hire charge
will be payable. I reserve the right to cancel your hire at any time before or during your trip and and provide a refund. I will not be liable for any other costs incurred by the hirer so please take out personal holiday insurance so you are covered in the event of cancellation.
